Well, that would be me - Albert Pernia, one proud BMW owner. Contrary to my alias, I am NOT Japanese. I'm a full-blooded Filipino living in sunny Southern California. The "Shinobi" name comes from one of my favorite video games of all time, the original old-school "Shinobi" by Sega. It was my first thought as a screen-name and I've stuck with it since. As for the real me, I'm not what you'd call a social butterfly, but am easy to get along with. I pride myself in being a good person, professional and courteous, and an overall cool dude = ).

By trade, I'm a professional web developer. While I won't say I'm a true master at any one specific thing, my knowledge covers the whole breadth of the web spectrum. I'm proficient in front-end development including HTML, DHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX. I also do my own image processing using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Back-end, I work mainly in ASP.NET, C#, Classic ASP, VBScript, and SQL Server. This year, I'm adding PHP, MySQL and Flash development to my skillset. So with all this, I'm currently trying my hand at independent consulting by running...what else? Shinobi WebDev ( www.shinobiwebdev.com ).

Outside of work, I like to engage in a variety of activities and hobbies. Anything from motorsports to playing pool to photography to playing video games. I also love to travel, but due to commitments and finances, I haven't done it as much as I'd like. While Las Vegas is by far the place I go to most, I have enjoyed trips to Seattle, San Franciso, Canada, Maui, Japan and Europe. Check out my Photo Gallery for some pics of my travels.
